Aren't they remarkable! I discovered them this year via TikTok, I was silenced by their words. It's a gift; an old soul messenger they are to me. They are the only one I listen to too when we talk about spoken poetry/word. No cringe here, just absolute poignant truth. Great share!!
Hey Caterina :) Thank you as always for sharing! I don't actually think it's an either or, I think it's down to personal preference and there is no one 'right' way for any of us :) Ultimately it comes down to performance and therefore the performer -- when Kae performs it's almost like they're channelling. Their performance transcends the text and is designed to be performed but can you imagine seeing anyone else perform it? I personally think that would be almost sacrilegious! Perhaps the people you saw perform meant for poets themselves rather than other people reading their works aloud but the other people I have seen perform that have made me feel a little cringey or embarrassed is ultimately when the performer wasn't connected to what they were saying - whether they wrote the piece themselves or not. It works in exactly the same way for acting. By 'grounded in reality' I mean connected to a deep authentic truth. <3
Wow, extraordinary and beautiful. Powerful and unique, I was completely blown away by them.
Wow, yes Emma! So pleased they resonated. And I cannot recommend seeing them perform live enough. It’s truly other worldly 💫

Thanks Iris! If you watched the first video where they stumble even, it’s so deeply authentic ‘an old soul messenger’ indeed ♥️♥️
